Das Skittlebräu!
Homer: "I'm feeling kinda low, Apu. Got any of that beer that has candy floating in it? Some Skittle.. you know."
Apu: "Such a product does not exist, sir. I think you must have dreamed it."
Homer: "Oh. Then just give me a six pack and a couple of packets of Skittles."

ACK!!!! Foamed!
Upon further analysis, it seems that the dye in the Skittle shell interacts with the beer to create sudden and massive amounts of foam/head. Beneath the froth lies a now heavily colored beer that tastes f'ing terrible. Also note that the Skittles sink rather than float as Homer said.
On the plus side, the Skittles, once rinsed, are still salvagable. In conclusion, the Simpsons appeared to have led me wrong. My faith in all that is good in this world is shaken.
